Fun shitbox to rag about before it breaks for £1000?

I just want some fast and cheap fun for £1000 it doesn't need to last forever

Last year I got a re mapped alfa romeo mito 155bhp (don't know what the actual hp was) for only £650 and it was awesome

Whatelse is good cheap fun?
