How can an aspiring writer/storyteller approach Telugu film producers or directors for a story narration?
Hi everyone,
I’m an aspiring storyteller and I have an original feature-film story that I would like to narrate to a producer/director in the Telugu film industry.
I’m not from an established film background, so I’m unsure about the proper and genuine way to approach production houses, directors, producers, or assistant directors in TFI.
I’d really appreciate advice from Telugu filmmakers, ADs, writers, producers, or anyone who has experience in the industry:
What is the usual process for getting a story narration opportunity?
Is it better to approach assistant directors/writers first rather than production houses directly?
Are there any legitimate platforms, offices, associations, or networking events where newcomers can pitch stories?
Should I prepare a one-line, synopsis, or complete narration before approaching someone?
How do newcomers generally get their first opportunity?
Are there any common mistakes or scams that aspiring writers should be careful about?
I’m not looking to post the story publicly. I’m mainly looking for guidance on the correct process and how to reach the right people.
If anyone working in TFI or familiar with the industry could share their experience or point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.
