Seller Buys $7 Jewelry From SHEIN and Resells for $30. AITA For Wanting To Leave a Review and Let Other People Know? What Should I Do?

Hi everyone, I have never posted on here before but wanted the opinion on a recent experience I had with a seller on Depop. I was looking for cute watches when I stumbled on this persons Depop shop and saw a very cute gold watch and a gold bracelet with colorful beads (both were listed for $30). They had other watches and a bracelet up for sale as well. The listing also said that the watch would come a little link adjuster tool and extra links. They had many good five star reviews with some four star saying the watches stopped working after a while. I didn’t really mind or think too much about that tho because i figured i would still wear it no matter if it stopped working.

So i asked if they were willing to bundle the watch and bracelet I liked for $38. I didn’t think they were going to accept it bc bundling them would’ve been $60, but I was willing to do $45-$50 if they had countered my offer. They ended up accepting it and bundling for the price i offered (I guess it might’ve been a red flag? But I was just really happy the offer was accepted). I ended up paying $45.03 after taxes, shipping and Depop fee.

When the package arrived I was really excited only to find out the bracelet was not the same as the pictures, BUT because of the way it was zoomed in it made the chains on it appear a lot bigger. It was also a lot smaller than I expected it to be so it was tighter than I would’ve hoped for on my wrist. I did however like the watch and it fit perfectly! (The small link adjuster and chains did come with the package).

I reached out the seller and nicely told them that I loved the watch, but that the bracelet was smaller than I would’ve hoped and that the chains were also a lot smaller than the pictures. I asked if there was anyway I could get a refund for the order (I didn’t want to keep the watch without the bracelet as they made a really cute pairing and wanted to wear them both as every day pieces). I told them I would send back both watch and bracelet along with the chain adjuster.

They replied back by saying they didn’t do refunds or returns. That was my one treat myself purchase I had done since I had been looking for a cute watch to wear. I submitted a claim trough Depop to see if I could get a partial refund for the bracelet as I thought the pictures listed on their shop were a bit misleading to the true size and had no length specifications.

The seller definitely saw the claim as they ended up adding the length of the bracelet and more pictures that show the actual size of the chains on the bracelet to their other listings they had up. Before the claim was even resolved!! Well Depop ended up not giving me back a partial refund claiming “the item is as described, which means we won’t be processing a return or refund this time around”. I figured I would just move on and simply not leave a review since there was no point after they updated their listings.

Well…I ended up reverse google imagining the bracelet listing I had bought to see if I could find something similar. Found the exact bracelet being sold on SHEIN for $7.20!! With a similar description as the Depop seller. They also offer different colors! After I discovered that I went through all her listings and did the same thing( Put the image in to google to reverse search it). Well safe to say ALL her jewelry is from SHEIN. The SHEIN shop that sells the same watches for $5-$6 also includes the chain adjuster with the purchase of the watches.

I hate myself for not doing that earlier, but I really loved the watch and bracelet 😭. I haven’t left a review bc I do sell my old clothes on Depop as an extra source of income (I am a college student trying to get by) and don’t want her leaving a one star review on my shop.

Sorry for the long rant!!! I just need to know if It would be worth it to leave the review and just accept it if they decide to leave a one star review on my shop? Or should I just let it go? Do I try reporting them to Depop?

I do want to clarify that after she messaged me saying she didn’t do refunds/returns I never messaged them back! Or have messaged them since!
