Why do some men don't get the hint??

Why don't some men don't realise a girl isn't interested in them and the fact they are following her while she's clearly uncomfortable by this just makes it worse. If a girl likes you, she will obviously put the effort back in but if she doesn't and you keep following her around. You're just being a creep and a stalker and giving us a bad name as well. Understand if a girl isn't interested just stay away and have some shame.
