There's no escaping Google with school!

I just attended my sons highschool open house where I went to all of his classes and met his teachers. Everything is done on Google classrooms. Using sheets, docs, slides, turning in assignments, looking up assignments and course requirements.

So, basically I've realized you can't escape using Google for school and for some of us for work, like my job.

But at least for personal use you can avoid it. But it's basically baked into society, to learn how to use these tools and eco system. One of the teachers had a QR code to put in your info and receive access to see the Google classrooms, but it required a Google account log in. So, I'm going to have to send an email giving the exact information requested with my non gmail.

I mean, am I missing something here? Is there anything else that can be done to shift the tides at the level of the school system that our kids have to go through?
