CC1 USB C replacement no longer free out of warranty

Just a heads up if your CC1 is out of warranty elegoo is no longer replacing the USB C cable for free. I had no idea mine was badly damaged until I installed CANVAS this weekend, immediately reached out to elegoo and this was their response.

Based on the information you provided, the issue appears to be related to a damaged USB-C cable on the hotend assembly.

This may be caused by repeated bending, pulling stress, or the known wear issue that can affect the cable over extended use.

We have reviewed your case and would like to clarify that the USB-C communication cable is indeed included as part of the machine accessories.

However, since your printer was purchased in 2025, it is now outside the warranty period.

If you would like to proceed with a replacement, we can provide you with a price quote for the cable. Please let us know if you are interested in receiving a quote.

We would also like to inform you that we currently have an upgraded version of this communication cable available.  The improvements include:

To achieve this, we have adjusted the wire mold to increase the thickness of the insulation layer, while also increasing the wrapping force on the inner core wires during manufacturing to make the interior much tighter and significantly improve the bending lifespan of the cable.

Furthermore, the internal cotton threads have been upgraded simultaneously to provide dual inner-and-outer protection for the cable.

Not sure why they need my SN to quote me on a cable, especially since I bought it from them, but I'll report back when I get a price. If nothing else it would seem if people need them they're readily available.
