how to ask for specific cuts at a barbers as a trans man

hi im a 23 yr old man and ive never been to a barbers, and i stopped going to salons when i was 11. ive always cut my own hair or asked loved ones. unfortunately for fair reasons my husband isnt able to keep cutting my hair so its time for me to finally go to a barbers.

thing is i dont know how to ask for speific hair cuts. id say the closest thing to how i like to have mt hair is s1 xander harris from buffy the vampire slayer. id have no idea how to ask for this. could i just show them a picture? do i have to ask for specific guard numbers? i dont know anything about hair tbh ive always just trusted my husband to do it

also do barbers tend to be fine with trans men even if theyre non passing? theres mostly only turkish barbers around me and a few people have said theyll take anyone as long as i get paid but im not sure
