“40+ and Want to Induce Lactation After Previous Breast Surgery – Advice?”
Hi ladies, I’m over 40 and interested in inducing lactation so that I can breastfeed my husband.
I had breast surgery about 2 years ago because of mastitis/breast abscess. I have recovered well, but because of my previous surgery I want to be particularly careful.
Has anyone here successfully induced lactation without being pregnant? If so, what method did you use and how long did it take?
I’m especially interested in natural methods, diet or supplements, but I want to avoid anything with significant side effects. Are there any supplements that you would recommend or advise against?
Also, would my previous breast surgery affect my ability to produce milk or make nipple stimulation unsafe?
I would really appreciate experiences from women over 40 who have actually tried this. Thank you.
