CT-9929 was a clone trooper medic and member of the Coruscant Guard’s specialized medical-engineer regiment, known as the **“Steel Hearts.”** The regiment was trained to combine battlefield medicine with engineering and emergency field support. The Steel Hearts treated wounded troopers, established field hospitals, repaired medical equipment, and adapted technology to keep their brothers alive in even the harshest environments. Their reputation for discipline, technical skill, and compassion earned them their name—a reflection of both their hardened armor and their unwavering dedication to the clones they served.  
Within the Steel Hearts, CT-9929 earned a reputation for keeping his brothers alive even in the worst battles. Calm under fire and unwilling to abandon a wounded clone, he would often put himself in danger to reach a fallen brother. His skill as a medic, combined with his stubborn determination, made him the trooper his squad wanted nearby when things went wrong. His brothers eventually gave him the nickname **“Nine Lives”** for two reasons. First, similar to Fives of the 501st, they noticed the repeated number in his designation—**CT-9929**, which contains three nines. Second, as a medic, his entire purpose was saving lives. What began as a joke among his brothers quickly became the name everyone knew him by: **Nine Lives**, the medic who always seemed to find a way to keep his brothers alive.
