Quest Gaming Optimizer (QGO): A MUST TO HAVE
About 6 months ago, a friend of mine strongly recommended me to get Quest Gaming Optimizer. He told me how amazing it turns games for Quest. He convinced me so I bought it and WOOW! I'm crazy of it but not for the reasons you might think. I did not try many Quest games so I can't talk about it. Apparently, QGO turns games in a much higher resolution, "better than SteamVR games" my friend said, but I'm very skeptical about this. Here are few key features I want to mention about QGO:
-1: The possibility to go back to the ancient Quest 3 OS/UI. I personally HATE the new OS/UI that Meta offered and is now imposing us. I think it's only designed to make everything more complicated and confusing. It adds nothing new at all. QGO doesn't only offer us the possibility to return to the old UI but also to have it PERMANENTLY ON.
-2: A great UI and Library. One of the things I like the most with QGO is its interface. As soon I turn my Quest 3 on, QGO opens right in front of me as the main panel. Inside the QGO box, I can see all my games, apps and tools all together with their very visible unique artistic thumbnails with the names. Everything is clear and simple. We can sort everything the way we want. We can create groups and subgroups if we want.
3: Power Options. QGO has a lot of options that are normally not available. I don't remember all the cool options that are available but here's one that is a must: The 'Proximity Sensor' can be turned off. Let me explain:
Since the last update from Meta, I get a weird bug where every single time that I remove my Quest 3 from my head while playing a game on Virtual Desktop, even for only 1 second, when I put it back, I find myself in the game but with the control doesn't work so I need to leave VD and launching it again. That sucks big time. A friend of mine solved this by putting a small piece of transparent scotch tape on his proximity sensor (located right between the 2 lenses) but there is no way I'll do that and take the chance to damage it. QGO has an option to it off PERMANENTLY, or until we switch it back on.
They also very often offer new updates for the app.
