While I was shopping at an auto parts store, I noticed an older-looking cat searching through a dumpster for food. What broke my heart even more was seeing that something was seriously wrong with his eyes. He was keeping them mostly closed, and it was obvious that he was uncomfortable and needed medical attention.
I couldn’t just walk away and leave him there suffering.
I spent my entire day trying to figure out what to do. I brought my trap and eventually managed to rescue him and get him somewhere safe. He is scared and doesn’t fully trust people. He did allow me to pet his head, but once he was inside the cage, he became frightened and started hissing and growling.
I don’t know if he is truly feral or simply terrified. From my experience rescuing community cats, I’ve seen cats behave this exact same way because they are scared, and with patience and love, they have eventually become wonderful, friendly cats. ❤️
Now he needs to see a veterinarian as soon as possible. His eyes need to be examined, and I’m worried that he has been suffering for some time.
🙏 I am asking for donations to help cover his veterinary care. As a solo rescue caring for many community cats, unexpected medical emergencies like this are incredibly difficult for me to handle alone.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help me get this boy the medical attention he desperately needs.
I am approved for donations on r/rescuecats and have a verification badge there, and anyone can verify this by looking at my posts.
If you are unable to donate, please share this post.
I don’t know his story. I don’t know how long he has been surviving on the streets or how long he has been dealing with his eyes. But I know that when I saw him searching through that dumpster for food, I couldn’t leave him behind.
He deserves a chance. He deserves to be comfortable. He deserves to be free from pain. 🐾❤️
Please help me help him. 🙏
Donations can be made through the link in my profile/bio page or here within the post Every bit of support makes a difference.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Luna & Nala Rescue Inc. Without your help, I could not continue saying yes to cats who have nowhere else to turn. ❤️🐾
