Pikes Peak ride

I’m a relatively new owner of a Miata ND3 GT, having recently switched from motorcycles to a fun weekend car. Living in Colorado seems to be one of the best places to own a Miata for the views and endless windy roads out here, and this car corners like no other car I’ve ever owned. I’m considering a drive up Pikes Peak before the weather changes in a few weeks. I’ve made the climb on both a touring motorcycle and pickup truck at least a dozen times over the years, being mindful of using my gears instead of brakes to govern my downhill speed.

The Miata is mostly stock and I don’t have the higher end Brembo brakes. I would like to hear other’s experience making this climb in their Miata, anything surprising or unusual about driving it in a Miata? Seems like the car is made for drives like this, but I’m curious to hear other’s experience making the trip.
