I never really had any intention of reaching Division 1. Always felt like too much effort for something that doesn’t really matter.  
With work and family, I don’t really have the time to sit and grind Division matches either. I mostly play them to test different teams, try out cards and figure out what works for me.

So one day I was in Div 4 and somehow just kept winning. Got to Div 3, then realised you get Barcola if you keep going. I honestly didn’t even know it was for the top 100,000.  
Then I reached Div 2 and thought, okay, maybe I should actually try this.  
My rating went up to around 1780 before I started dropping. Then it was just up and down for a while. At one point I fell all the way back to around 1520 and thought, screw this, I’m done.  
But during that whole run, I was actually experimenting quite a lot. I don’t really enjoy playing purely based on the meta. I just want to play decent, controlled football and actually enjoy the way my team plays.

Eventually I figured out that I needed to be comfortable with at least two playstyles. So I settled on Out Wide and LBC as my two styles.  
And somehow, I finally made it.

Division 1.

The funny thing is I was almost back in Div 3 at one point, and then somehow climbed all the way back up.  
Might sound a bit philosophical for an eFootball post, but there’s probably a life lesson somewhere in there 😂

Anyway, shoutout to the cards that got me through this run:

Drogba, Silvestre, Cruyff and Del Piero.

And Rooney and Ferdinand were absolutely perfect additions.

Now I guess I have to pretend I meant to reach Div 1 all along.
