Why back work is just a tick box

Every lift in this app gets weight, reps and a place in the charts. Except the back work. That one is three sets and a tick, and it is not because it does not matter.

Each day has one pull, horizontal on day one and vertical on day two by default, and you can swap them. Three hard sets, tick it off, done.

The reason there is no field to fill in is that back work is the one place you can stop counting and just go. Take the set past failure. Myo reps. Half reps at the end when the full ones are gone. Hammer it. And once you are training like that, what exactly would you write down? Eleven reps, but the last three were partials and one was a bit of a cheat. That number means nothing next block. Logging it would only push you toward clean countable reps, which is the opposite of what you want here.

The four big lifts are where you pay attention. Percentages, three hard sets, RPE, all of it tracked because the whole progression depends on it. Then you finish those and you go to war with the back. It is also the safest place to do that, since a sloppy last rep on a row costs you a lot less than a sloppy last rep on a deadlift.

The tradeoff is real. You will not see your pulls improving over time because nothing is recorded, so if progressing your rows on paper matters to you, log them somewhere else. I would rather have the effort than the number.
