TSH level

Hoping to hear some experience from someone that has dealt with this. My husband and I are in the process of doing a medicated IUI with our fertility doctor. I went in for baseline testing yesterday such as blood work and an ultrasound. Everything looked normal but my TSH level was at a 2.7 and they stated their required level is 2.5 and below. They said they wanted to start me on thyroid medication that I would need to take throughout the process and through pregnancy. I have had this same test done multiple times since last year and it has never been this high. I am wondering if it’s because I was in a rush and skipped breakfast the day of my blood work. Anyways I feel as though I would rather have them retest me than to put me on thyroid medication if it’s truly not what I need. I did ask them if they would retest my level before putting me on any more medication.
