I’ve been flagged by an automod and struggling to post in my favourite subreddits. I just need to vent here and maybe get some advice. Also taking a little break from Reddit because omfg 😖

The r/BotBouncer app flagged me as a bot, and as Reddit gets flooded with bots my favourite subreddits are understandably downloading it to help combat the problem. I have to keep reaching out to the mods of those subreddits to unban/approve my posts. I don’t know if it’s because my account was inactive for over a year when I took my content break, or because i have high karma from those previous years of activity but not enough posts to ‘prove’ it, or if it’s purely because I post NSFW content and/or have links around my page.

Either way, they won’t listen to me and repeatedly deny my appeals. I don’t want to keep bothering the moderators of BBW subreddits and worry about more of my fave subreddits installing the bot bouncer app. I’m also apparently not allowed to make a new account as that counts as a ban evasion.

I wasn’t expecting this issue and would have simply made a new reddit account when I came back at the beginning of the year if I’d known. I feel a bit stupid, sort of rejected, completely unsure how to prove I’m a human??

I’ll be taking a small break from reddit and might finally make an X because bluesky seems pretty dead. I don’t know what to do guys 🤷‍♀️ what a wild and hostile place this is
