If You Had to Show a Foreign Traveller the “Real India”, Where Would You Take Them?

I've been thinking about how India is presented to international travellers.

The usual itinerary often revolves around a few major destinations and landmarks. And honestly, they are worth visiting.

But there is another side of India that can be just as fascinating — sometimes even more so.

Think hidden heritage towns in Rajasthan, local villages, wildlife experiences, ancient temples, Himalayan communities, regional food, traditional crafts and places where you can actually spend time understanding the local way of life.

So I'm curious:

If a foreign traveller gave you 2 weeks in India and asked you to show them something beyond the typical tourist itinerary, where would you take them?

Would you choose:

Hidden Rajasthan

Ladakh and Himalayan villages

Spiritual India

Wildlife destinations

Lesser-known heritage towns

Something completely different

And most importantly, what experience would you make sure they don't miss?

Looking for recommendations from people who have actually travelled through these places rather than just the usual Google-list destinations.
