Total solar eclipse - August 12th 2026

🎧 Sensory Issues

Today there will be a total solar eclipse happening for parts Greenland, Spain and Russia. For most of Europe there will be a partial eclipse happening.

Under no circumstances should you look into the sun without eclipse glasses, it may feel fine as the sun will appear dimmer, but the damage is still being done. The only time it is safe to do so is during totality (where the moon completely covers the sun).

It will get darker, colder, and you may feel a chill during eclipse totality.

For those in the UK, we will see a 90-94% partial eclipse, it is not safe to look at the sun at all during any part of this partial eclipse.

If you do not have eclipse glasses but still want to watch it, go online and find a tutorial for a pinhole projector.

Stay safe and enjoy the eclipse
