Beginner Canoe Day Trip in Algonquin — Hoping to See Wildlife!

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I are going to Algonquin tomorrow and want to do a one-day canoe trip. We’re both fit/active but complete beginners — I’ve only been in a canoe once or twice.

We can’t transport a canoe on our car, so we’d need to rent one somewhere near the access point. We’re also only arranging everything now for tomorrow.

Our priorities are:

🛶 A beginner-friendly day trip with beautiful scenery and views

🫎 I know there’s no guarantee of seeing a moose, but it’s a big wish of mine to see one, or at least experience a lot of wildlife

🌌 We’d then like to spend the evening at a campground watching the Perseid meteor shower

Any recommendations for a specific route/access point + canoe rental that would work with such short notice?
