I am the problem in this story, not my partner or kids.

I lose track of what I am supposed to do around the house. That leaves two outcomes: my partner quietly does it all, or she has to keep reminding me. The second one is worse than it sounds, because it turns her into the household manager and me into someone who needs managing, and neither of us signed up for that.

Meanwhile my oldest is just getting old enough to take on real chores, and I wanted that to become a habit rather than a negotiation.

So I built Homeworld. Every chore anyone in the house finishes, mine very much included, adds points to one landmark we are building together. Finish the Eiffel Tower and there is a celebration, a reward we picked in advance (ours was movie night with homemade pizza), the landmark gets stamped into a World Passport, and we choose the next one.

The design falls out of the problem:

\* No leaderboard. I am a grown adult playing the same game as my kid. Ranking us is either humiliating or meaningless. One shared total, nobody ranked.

\* No weekly reset. Progress is cumulative, so a bad week just means the tower rises slower.

\* Reminders go to whoever owns the task and are never broadcast to everyone else. The app does the nagging so my partner does not have to. That was the entire point.

Stack: Flutter, Firebase for auth and Firestore, RevenueCat for subscriptions, OneSignal for notifications. The landmark art is hand-drawn SVG with four progressive build stages, so the tower visibly rises as points come in. Most fun part of the build, also the most annoying.

Free for up to four people with a starter set of landmarks. That is the real app, not a trial.

One thing I am unsure about: I added optional per-kid rewards on top of the shared landmark, as a hedge in case a shared goal is not motivating enough on its own. Part of me thinks that quietly reintroduces the individual scorekeeping I was trying to remove. Would you have shipped that, or left it out?

I kept forgetting my share of the housework, so I built an app that nags me instead of my partner
