need help: WLED and MAX7219 digital clock

Hey folks,

I'm going to keep this short.

I've got an esp8266 hooked up to a 2D LED matrix pannel - 8x8, 4 segments, all on the same board, using max7219.

I have been using this setup as a digital clock for several years now (with WLED) and worked justg fine. Yesterday I've updated to the latest version of WLED and now I just can't figure out how to set it up again as a digital clock.

I've generated the 2D matix config for pannel 0 (32x8 horizontal, 1st led top left) and for segment-0 added scrolling text with segment name set to #HHMM but absolutely nothing happens (sometimes, random pixels light on up the pannel when I power on the board).

Is there anything I'm missing here?

I was looking into config > led & hardware setup to change the type of LEDs but I don't see anything there that would match my nonRGB leds.

Any welp would be greatly appreciated
