Advice how to rock a trenchcoat?

Anything between a "matrix-style" to more classic goth. I love trench coats and always wanted one. On one hand, I know they tend to be seen as "cringe discord mod edgelord" attire, but also, I'm cringe already. My go-to hat I wear during colder weather is a jester-like black/white hat, with the two "ears" going down to my shoulders. I do care about wearing the trenchcoat right, though. Knowing what to add to the outfit to make it look well.
