HARD RESET FAIL. ANY IDEA WHY?
(Backstory first. So my previous account, started December 2023 on a back up phone in a different location to the account before that, was just getting unattractive girls and no matches for 1-2 years of having it until I deleted it in 2026, about 5 months ago. That unattractive girl decline began about 1 week after it’s own hard reset in 12/23.)
So I did what I thought was a hard Tinder reset Sunday just gone.
Pat of the plan of me deleting my account on my back up phone 5 months ago, obviously over the 90 days which lets your all date of that account become deleted at that stage and all history of you wiped from Tinder’s memory, right?
Then on Sunday I simply did a new account on the main phone (a new phone which I got whilst my back up phone still had the previous account.
Virtually everything on the new account on Sunday was different to the old account. New email, phone number, name, new payment card. I started the account at home (where I used my old account even though the old account was started in a different location), had about 3-4 of the same photos, plus some new photos. But as it was over 90 days I didn’t think anything of the same account mattered on the new account. So the photos was not a concern.
I had to do a face to camera verification though this time on a new reset. No choice. Won’t be able to send likes or be seen to other users otherwise.
When I was allowed to start swiping I had to give 20 Likes to girls of my choosing before Tinder would get an idea of the girls I liked and whom I wanted to be seen to as well as see myself. Obviously I went for the most attractive to me, and they were 10 out of 10s for the most part that I was shown.
After this I must have lasted about 30 minutes getting nice highly attractive girls to swipe on before things went south.
After this point, the level of physical attractiveness started to go down and down until I’m just X’ing (Left swiping) on girls, and about 1 in 20 girls were attractive, with a few mildly/debatebly attractive girls who I’d rather not swipe on.
It was at this point that I joined Platinum, I had to as my Likes ran out, and as it was the first evening when I would be at the top of the stack, I had to maximise this opportunity as I always do on a reset.
Still I not only got hardly any attractive girls, but the biggest unbelievable shock and horror - I got 0 matches, and 0 likes.
I say 2-3 hours later I got 2 matches, and 2 likes. 1 match replied me. Some time after the unreplier unmatched.
But Monday - OMG, a stunning beauty matched with me. But didn’t reply. The other match stopped replying.
1 new match last night.
So what has gone wrong? I know Tinder has gone downhill and the days of a hard reset on a Sunday evening getting over hundreds of matches is in the past now and no longer happens. But I thought I’d get maybe a dozen or so matches?
I can’t believe that my original fears and cynicism wasn’t negative paranoia but was actually realism, and that Tinder - the last hope for me in meeting girls at my age, doesn’t even work, leaving me pretty much dead in the water for meeting anyone now.
What do you guys think was the problem here? The only other thing I can think of is that I posted a new pic of me with my shirt off in the heath where I live, but I was working holding a camera and someone took that photo of me, where I am rather far away from the camera smiling at it. I am in good ripped shape so it’s a nice natural photo to show a positive look of myself I think. But surely shirtless torso photos can’t be a bad thing to make people swipe left?
Also if Tinder takes a photo verification of me, does that become a problem if I want to delete this account and start over like 90 days later, but everything is new. Location, photos, email etc.? Or does that photo verification have them identifying who I am for life?
Eager to know what reasons you all think are why my hard reset got hardly any matches, especially the first evening, why I don’t see attractive girls hardly, and if the photo verification will be a problem if I was to do a 100% everything new reset later. Many thanks for reading all of this and any help given.
