If the Bible is the perfect word of God, why does it have such mistakes?
I was reading Chronicles 1 chapter 25, when I stumbled across a very weird verse that did not really make sense to me, this verse is the third verse of the 25th chapter. The verse lists the names of the sons of Jeduthun, they are: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Hashabiah and Mattithiah. The verse then says: Six under their father. The problem is, if you count the names you will count only Five, not Six names.
You might argue that it is a scribal mistake, which is common in the Bible. But the question is, if the Bible has so many scribal mistakes and errors, then how can we trust it? You surely would not rely on a medical book that’s proven to have a lot of mistakes and wrong information, let alone a book that’s supposed to be a guide for mankind. Why did a lot of the scribes not transmit the text properly, and why even some of them intentionally changed some of the content of the Bible to fit their narrative ( I can make a whole separate post about this )?
