Musician looking to start DJing

I’ve played instruments for 15 years (I’m 22) and I have a really musical ear. People have always said I should DJ because beat matching and stuff seems fairly intuitive. Equally, I’ve never DJ’d so there may be much much more to it

I have an iPad which I’d like to start on, and need to buy decks (pioneer?).

Bpm matching and key matching is all pretty obvious, what else do I need to look at?

How long am I looking at before I could do friends parties and stuff?
