Is there UtilityScaling or versatility scaling?
Power scaling can be fascinating sometimes with directly comparing different franchises, but the higher up you go the more “same” I feel it gets - it just ends up being destroy multiverse, tank the multiverse’s destruction, or warping reality in insane ways. Out of these three only the third can really do well in non-combat situations.
I really like some series such as HxH dodgeball game or Heist scenes that require alternate win conditions. Hero series also often force heroes to get sidetracked by disarming traps/bomb, rescuing hostages, preventing easy wins like “explode the entire mountain to brute force the enemy” if they're in a metropolis and can't afford collateral damage. Or would this be more of a r/narrativeScaling since different narratives force a character to battle in a specific way?
