Gambit felt like a plot device in s2

SpoilerGeneral Discussion

He was going through an emotional breakdown in s1. Wolverine and Morph treated it as a joke, and what happened on Genosha was pretty grim too. Oh yes, and He died

I felt Rogue’s grieving in s1 was done well, considering it involved a lot guilt, and accountability. she didnt outright need to bring up Magneto, to show she was devastated at what happened

S2 didnt have to have the same intensity, but they did brush over all of Gambits character arc. They all grieved Gambits death, but ignored the circumstances of how it happened and why it was so painful

Rogues determination was done well, but they kind of ignored the root of Gambits death and why it felt so unjust, considering what he went through before he died, and not knowing he was chosen, essentially dying cause he thought he had nothing to lose. I remember after s1 episode 5, everyone felt Gambits death was a complete disservice (incredible character moment btw). But he was robbed. Everyone was waiting for him to return, and when he did, it was missing that angst. Everything was immediately forgiven, even when he was evil.

Bare in mind, i didnt want them to constantly bring up Magneto, and that whole situation, or outright show hatred to rogue but it needed to be addressed

Gambit was essentially a slave, then unconscious, woke up miraculously, to become a vessel again. Then he was saved and got a kiss and resolved. But to the audience, it didnt feel like enougn from him as a character, not just a vessel
