Looking to speak with Melbourne cabinet makers / kitchen industry professionals
Hey everyone,
I’m currently exploring a business idea in the **kitchen and cabinetry space in Melbourne** and I’m looking to speak with people who actually work in the industry before I go too far with it.
The model I’m considering is fairly asset-light. I would focus on **finding customers, quoting, managing the client relationship and coordinating the project**, while partnering with established cabinet makers/manufacturers and installers for the actual production and installation.
Before doing anything, I want to understand whether this model is realistic and learn how the industry actually operates.
I’d particularly love to speak with:
\- Cabinet makers / joiners
\- Kitchen manufacturers
\- Cabinet installers
\- Kitchen designers
\- Suppliers
Current or former cabinetry business owners
I’m mainly interested in understanding **how jobs typically flow, subcontracting arrangements, margins, quoting, common problems, and what someone entering the industry should know**.
Not looking to sell anything or ask anyone for work. I’m genuinely trying to learn from people with experience and validate the idea properly.
If you’re Melbourne-based and would be happy to have a quick chat over the phone or coffee, please comment or DM me. Happy to shout you a coffee for your time.
Thanks!
