Tracing refrigerant leak

My 96 is leaking r134a I’m pretty sure. I’m very mechanically inclined so when my AC went out I took the whole dash out and redid the air box and got new everything and o-rings only thing I didn’t change was the blower got the heater core too. The AC compressor got swapped out too but I took it to a shop to get it filled with the right amount of oil and freon and it made it about a week and now my AC compressor is not engaging, I’m thinking because I’m out of the freon.

The shop guy had an attitude with me when I asked them to find the leak since they said they used UV dye. I told him I’ll do it myself but he said I need some yellow glasses?

I gotta look into everything and get the tools still but I could use advise on how to best trace the source of the possible leak
