Stefan is 55 years old.

During the week, he works at a bank. After work and on weekends, he manages his own 25-hectare hillside farm in Germany, taking care of around 20 cows.

If you looked at a farm this size, you would probably guess the hardest job is mowing the open fields.

For Stefan, it isn’t.

The real challenge is something much smaller — but much more repetitive:

**Maintaining nearly 10 km of electric fencing around his property.**

***The job that always comes back***

Grass and weeds growing under the fence cannot be ignored.

When vegetation gets too close, it can interfere with the electric fence, so the entire line needs regular maintenance.

There is no shortcut.

Before Mowrator, Stefan mainly had two options.

***🚜 Using a tractor***

A tractor can cover large areas quickly.

But on his 26–28° slopes, it requires constant attention.

>

For him, it wasn’t just about getting the job done — it was about doing it safely.

***🪓 Using a brush cutter***

The brush cutter worked, but walking the entire fence line was physically demanding.

With dry, tough grass and uneven terrain, the full route usually took around **2 hours**.

As Stefan described it:

>

It was the kind of maintenance task that was easy to postpone — until the fence started losing power.

***His garden robot worked. His farm was a different challenge.***

Before looking for another solution, Stefan already owned a robotic mower for his garden and had used it for four years.

For a normal lawn, it worked well.

But his farm was a completely different environment:

⛰️ Steeper slopes
🌿 Tougher grass
🌱 Uneven terrain
🐄 Much larger working areas

The garden robot simply wasn’t designed for this type of landscape.

That was when Stefan started searching for a different solution.

***Why did he choose Mowrator?***

Stefan discovered Mowrator through YouTube videos and experiences shared by other German users.

He decided to order online without seeing the machine in person.

For him, the decision came down to one question:

>

He wasn’t looking for the cheapest option.

He was looking for equipment that could handle the reality of his farm.

***After several months, the biggest difference is practical***

The same fence-line work now takes around:

⏱️ **2 hours → about 1 hour**

But saving time is only part of the change.

For Stefan:

✅ Less physical effort
✅ Less risk on steep sections
✅ Less need to take the tractor into difficult areas
✅ More energy left after finishing farm work

The biggest improvement is simple:

He spends less time fighting the terrain and more time enjoying the farm.

***For Stefan, mowing is not only about appearance 🐄***

A clean field looks good.

But that is not the main reason he maintains the grass.

Old, dry grass becomes too hard for cows to eat.

By removing the old grass layer, fresh green growth can come through again, helping keep the pasture usable for his animals.

For him, the goal is not a perfect-looking lawn.

It is keeping the land productive.

***Every property has that one area that refuses to cooperate.***

For Stefan, it is a 10 km fence line on a hillside farm.

For someone else, it might be:

⛰️ A steep slope
🌿 An overgrown corner
🌳 Areas around trees and obstacles
🚜 Places where normal equipment struggles to reach

**What is the one area on your property that your usual equipment always struggles with?**

We’d love to hear how you handle it. 🌱

The hardest part of a 25-hectare hillside farm? A 10 km fence line. 🌱
