Boofing: saline or water?

What do you guys use? Is there any benefit to using saline over water if you live in an area with very good/clean tap water?

Could saline help circumvent gut lining damage from repetitive boofing and/or caustic substances?

Perhaps a stupid question… but I’ve been wondering.
