GT7 vs Assetto Corsa: game difference or PS5 limitation?
Hi everyone,
I’m trying to understand whether the big difference I’m feeling comes from the games themselves or from PS5 vs PC.
I used to mainly play GT7 on PS5. Later I installed the original Assetto Corsa on PC, mostly because I could add some of the smaller tracks I also drive at in real-life track days.
I’m using a Fanatec GT DD Pro 8 Nm, and AC on PC feels much more natural to me, especially around and beyond the limit. The biggest example is drifting: in AC I can link corners and control slides quite naturally, while in GT7 I never really managed to do that consistently, even though I also drift in real life.
So my question is: is this mainly because GT7 and AC have very different physics/FFB, or is there also a real platform difference, where PS5 cannot use the wheelbase as well as PC?
I’m also considering buying ACC, but I’m not sure whether to get it on PS5 for convenience or just stay on PC.
Has anyone tested the same game on both PS5 and PC with the same wheelbase/setup? For example ACC on both platforms.
Did you notice a meaningful difference, or is what I’m feeling most likely just GT7 vs AC?
Thanks!
Edit: The reason I’m asking is that my PS5 is actually much more powerful than my current PC. I’m trying to figure out whether I’ll eventually need to upgrade the PC because sim racing will always be better there, or whether the PS5 can give me a similarly good experience and I just need to try a different game.
