What kind of makeup?

I am searching for a white face makeup, am beginner and I see that a friend did use aqua color from a cosplay store for gothic makeup. But as they dry out, they become brittle and look like a dry desert, making it really short and temporary instead of daily usable.

What kind of makeup should I be looking for? What differences are there? Do brands matter?
