Just watched seasons 1-4

So this was my first watch of the show ( shout out my niece ) I was told the show was kinda outdated or whatever but I didn't care. But can someone explain to me why both daughters feel the need to know EVERYTHING going on in their parents lives and why the parents were letting them treat them like kids 😂🤦🏼‍♂️ Like I think both daughters are bad and annoying and they don't really change much (despite what I've been reading on here this morning) I just don't see the growth they do the same things they were doing in season 1 😂😂 but I just can't stand that they feel like they need to know every thing and detail about what their parents got going on.. I also have an unpopular opinion I think John is the best character in the show he's the most realistic even if you hate him 😂🤷🏼‍♂️
