Relationship ending makes me look for positive signs
My four-year relationship is ending. It was the best partnership I've ever had. No one has ever understood me as well as she does. On Sunday (it's Wednesday now), she will come with her friends (and family) to move her stuff out of our apartment.
I am happy for her to have support and already have found a new place. But, selfishly, I am very sad for myself. I don't have friends outside of my ex, and any family I have lives far away and isn't able to help me/isn't a support to me.
I am in the process of finding new employment, don't know how I'll pay my rent, don't have anywhere to go if I can't, and don't have anyone to help me move regardless. I have been attending some support groups for adults with autism (like me) but the rest of the time I am alone with my cat.
I am trying therefore to see the bigger picture, to understand the universe really is working in my favor all the time. One of the jobs in interviewing for is crisis counselor. I *really* want that job. I am hoping that the universe is leading me that direction, because talking to crisis counselors is *my* main source of social connection and has been for over half my life (I'm 34).
After all these years, I'm hopeful and maybe seeing that life wants me to grow this way. It wants me to offer support to those in need, while continuing to support myself. It wants me to love myself and independently take control of my life again. I had been struggling for many years feeling like a victim of life. Now I am forced to get moving and try to aave my life so I don't end up homeless in a couple months.
Am I just crazy? Is this spiritual belief that life is working for me just some delusion to help me cope with the scariest situation I've ever been in? It feels suspicious but maybe I'm deluding myself.
