What's up with people here listing multiple programming languages on their resumes when they’re structurally and fundamentally so different in how they work?

General

Final year ECE grad here, mostly work in tech and a bit of core.

Everyday I see alot of resumes here, mentioning languages they know as

C/C++, Java,Python and all these.

How? And why?

I agree people can really learn these but it takes time and exp, and more or less it's mostly about niche you are applying too.

Like the difference between Java and C in memory allocation is insane, and there's a differ between knowing a language and working with it.

I understand some languages do complement each other like Kotlin,Java based on same properties but C and Java are completely different.
