Which one to choose? Asus Prime or Sapphire 9070 xt
I know that there is no clear answer to the question but I was able to lower the choices to these 2 cards. They are nearly the same price in my country.
I already have a top tier system. Before another wave of price increases wanted to update my second system which I already have a 3080 12GB on it. I'll connect that system to a 4K TV in time so wanted to get as close as possible to optimal performance. I don't plan to update any parts on the old system except GPU. I have the 2021 Corsair RM850x PSU. I don't want the 12VHPWR connector even it's possible to use with an adapter, so Nvidia is not an option.
I don't care about RGB, no lights is better. My case has enough room for any card, before I installed a huge 5080. I don't care about DLSS, "Flame" Generation, Ray-Path tracing etc. My days of overclocking and making the system work like a tractor long gone so I don't care about those as well. Maybe some undervolting if it'll help for a more stable system. I may use VR from time to time, I guess for this Nvidia is better but I may just use my high end system for that.
I was using the Sapphire R9 290x for years so I know the brand and from what I read even a little less performance than Asus it'll work out of the box at an optimal noise/performance level. Having 2x8 pin connector is also a positive in my mind.
Sorry for the long post, wanted to give as much info as possible. What would you do? Any ideas to help me decide is appreciated.
