[Request] I'm working every day, but I'm stuck in survival mode and I don't know how to get out

Rant

I really hate making this post.

I've gone back and forth about whether I should ask strangers for help, because my entire life I've believed that you're supposed to work harder and figure things out yourself.

I'm trying. I'm working Uber and Lyft, I'm applying for jobs, I'm trying to rebuild my life, and I'm trying to do the right things.

But I'm in a hole that I can't seem to get enough distance from.

I'm roughly $10,000 behind on obligations, even after going through bankruptcy. That's not $10,000 of future expenses—it's what I'm already behind on. And that's before normal life continues happening.

Every day has become survival mode. I work because I have to work. But then something breaks, another bill comes due, or something happens with the house or the cars, and whatever progress I made disappears.

This week was another example. Our AC needed a repair during extreme heat while I had my kids at home. I couldn't wait and hope I could figure it out myself, so I paid roughly $400 for the repair. I didn't really have the money to spend, but I didn't feel like I had a choice.

Now I'm trying to work my way back from that.

I have maintenance that needs to be done on the cars I depend on to make money. I have brakes that need attention on the vehicle I'm driving. I have HOA obligations and other bills coming due. And every one of those things becomes another obstacle to earning the money I need to get caught up.

That's the part that's becoming so painful.

I'm trying to build a new life, but I can't seem to get out of survival long enough to actually build it.

I don't expect strangers on Reddit to fix my life. I'm not looking for someone to carry me indefinitely. I'm working and I'm trying to find a sustainable way forward.

But I genuinely need help getting some breathing room.

If anyone is willing to contribute, even a small amount, it would go toward getting caught-up obligations under control and keeping the things I depend on to work and provide for my family functioning.

I can provide whatever verification is required by this subreddit. I'm also happy to answer reasonable questions about my situation.

I know everyone is struggling with something, and I know nobody owes me anything. I'm just at the point where I have to admit that working harder isn't creating enough room to get ahead right now.

Asking for help is incredibly difficult for me. But I'm trying to be honest about where I'm at rather than pretending I can handle everything myself.

Thank you for reading.
