A name so ridiculous, you wouldn’t think it’s real. And for far too long, as symptoms emerge slowly, neither does the medical community. When the elusive, DNA-injecting Posterior Adipose Weight Gain virus receives a real, formal name, it will be too late.

It starts subtle, very subtle, with a tenderness in the glutes, along with the occasional lightheaded hot flash. But as the incubation continues over several weeks, even the flattest, twiggiest, lankiest women will start to notice a thick bubble butt forming, a jiggly, wobbling, bulging rear. As alarming as it would be, the gradual nature, both in an individual and in the spread, slow at first before of course becoming exponential, serves to desensitize just enough. And of course, in the time it takes to even confirm the existence of this thing, it will become memeworthy, the common people left to their imaginations and guesses about the cause, whether it be a social trend, some fault of the food system, or something entirely different. The one thing that’s for sure is society, infected or otherwise, will start to develop a mental contagion - an interest, a fascination, a fixation, an obsession with this new wave of big asses, shy, delicate women now waddling around awkwardly with Kardashianized, ant-shaped builds…..
