[PC] Hard Crash at the EXACT same spot (Svartalfheim Nidavellir Boat Ride). Tried everything, need help! ðŸ˜
Hey everyone, I am losing my mind over a consistent crash and hoping someone has a fix or a workaround.
My game hard-crashes to the desktop with the generic "Something went wrong with this game" Sony error reporter at the exact same second, every single time. It happens right as I am arriving at Nidavellir in Svartalfheim on the boat. It crashes exactly when Atreus says the line: "Oh. They're, uh, running away."
My PC Specs:
- GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3050 6GB
- CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Storage: Installed on a 512GB SATA SSD (D: Drive)
- OS: Windows 11
What I have already tried (None of these worked):
- Dropped all graphics settings to the absolute minimum (Low/Off).
- Changed to Windowed Mode and dropped the resolution to 720p.
- Capped the frame rate to exactly 30 FPS in the game settings.
- Tried turning DLSS off entirely, and also tried it on Quality.
- Cleared the DirectX Shader Cache completely.
- Increased my Windows Virtual Memory (Pagefile) to 24GB-48GB on my C: drive to split the load.
- Deleted the corrupted auto-save and the
userpreferencesfile. - Verified game files on Steam.
- Changed Windows Audio Sample Rate to 16-bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality).
- Tried the "Look Away" trick (staring at the floor of the boat so the town doesn't render).
- Closed all background apps (Chrome, Discord, etc.).
Since I'm playing on a 6GB card and a SATA SSD, I know the hardware isn't top-tier, but the fact that it crashes at this exact frame of dialogue every time feels like a hard-coded engine bug rather than a hardware timeout.
Has anyone else encountered this exact boat crash? Is there a specific config file tweak, or does anyone have a save file located exactly on the dock right after this boat ride so I can just skip it?
Any help is massively appreciated!
