Just ordered a PSP in 2026. Do you guys still enjoy yours?

QUESTION

I just ordered a PSP and now I'm wondering if I'll actually enjoy it as much as I think I will ๐Ÿ˜…

I grew up playing a LOT of PS1 and PS2, and I feel like those consoles completely shaped (or ruined lol) my taste in games. I still prefer older games that had their own personality, even if they were janky sometimes. A lot of modern games just feel too similar to me.

I'm also a dad now, so I don't have that much time for gaming anymore. Sometimes after putting the kid to bed I don't want to sit down for a "proper" gaming session. I just want to lie down, relax for 30-60 minutes and disappear into something nostalgic and comfortable.

I actually have a powerful gaming laptop and still play newer stuff like Battlefield 6, but when I turn that on it usually becomes a full 2-hour gaming session. The PSP sounds more like something I can just grab, play for a bit and put away.

One of the biggest reasons I ordered it is honestly nostalgia. I already want to go through SmackDown vs. Raw 2006-2011 again, play the old GTA games, NFS, Tekken, God of War, etc.

So for those of you who bought/re-bought a PSP as adults: are you actually happy with it, or did the nostalgia wear off quickly?

And how well have the games aged? Do they still give you that PS2-era feeling, or do you find yourself wishing you were just playing the PS2 versions instead?

Curious to hear from people who came back to the PSP after many years.
