GL Rey vs Cpt Ithano / Vane team – Stuck at 1% HP immortality loop

Question

Hey guys, I keep timing out against Captain Ithano, Kix, Vane, Brutus.

The Issue: Vane has perma-taunt, and the whole enemy team stays stuck at 1% HP and won't die no matter how much damage I do.
My Setup: GL Rey, BB-8, Cal, Jedi-Training Rey, Resistance Hero Poe (no Ben Solo, no CAT).

What exact mechanic causes this 1% HP immortality, and how do I bypass Vane's taunt to kill them without CAT or Ben?

Thanks!
