Eclipse viewing help!

Hi!!!! Because of eclipse glasses being out of stock and nobody around me having any for tonight (I'm based in the UK for context :)) I don't really have a way of viewing the eclipse, however, my Stepmom said we can just look at it by using like a selfie setting on our phone??. I think this could possibly be dangerous but everybody in my family is being rather stubborn and saying its fine 🤣. I was just wondering if anybody knew if it's a safe way of viewing it or not! Thanks!!
