Weekend Scheduling in Acute Care
The hospital I work at currently requires 4 weekend days a month (either every Saturday, every Sunday, or every other full weekend). All other hospitals I have been affiliated with for clinicals and internships did a rotating weekend schedule (1-2 days per month). I have talked to my managers about a moving to this model but would like some examples of how other hospitals manage this. If you work in Acute Care, what is the weekend scheduling like?
-How to you avoid going over 40 hours if you do a weekend schedule?
-Are you only seeing evals / high priorities on weekends?
-How big is your hospital and how many PTs do you have there on weekend days vs weekdays?
