Last night I got to try out the new **Coconut Format for Disney Lorcana** at one of my LGSs, and honestly… I haven’t had this much fun playing Lorcana in a LONG time.
The biggest thing I want to emphasize is that **Coconut isn’t competitive.** It feels like a format designed specifically to let people sit down, play some games, make goofy plays, and just have a good time.
And it worked.
I’m really excited to see what the Lorcana team does with this format and what Coconut eventually develops into.
🥥 **How We Handled Multiplayer**
For anyone wondering how we handled the Coconut rules in multiplayer, we referenced the **Competitive Rules** for Lorcana, which has a section covering multiplayer formats.
Because of that, the first player **didn’t draw an extra card**.
Interestingly, I asked around afterward and all of the groups that played (16 players total) seemed to agree that the Coconut abilities did a pretty good job of balancing that out.
**Our Coconuts**
Our group had:
🥥 **Stitch** — me
🥥 **Donald**
🥥 **Mr. Incredible**
🥥 **Ursula**
And each one felt pretty different.
**Stitch** was *aggressive*. I was hitting 20 lore within the first 5–6 turns, but that also meant everyone immediately decided I was the biggest threat and teamed up on me. 😂
**Mr. Incredible** felt really strong, but seemed to require specific cards to really take advantage of his ability.
**Ursula** was absolutely terrifying. If an **Ursula, Deceiver of All** stayed on the board, the game could very quickly become hers.
And **Donald** could get out of hand incredibly quickly if you didn’t answer him before he started boosting his characters.
Overall, though?
**Everyone had a blast.**
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and I’m definitely looking forward to playing more Coconuts.
If you’ve been getting burned out on competitive Lorcana, or you just want something where you can sit down with friends and do ridiculous stuff, I’d definitely recommend giving this format a shot.
I’m also thinking about making some **Coconut deck lists/gameplay/content**, so let me know if that’s something you’d like to see!
🥥 **What Coconut have you played so far, and how has it been?**
Huge shoutout to:
**Snake Eyes Comics** for hosting the event
**Adam** for making the awesome Coconut tokens
**Cinder** for designing the Coconut cards

We Tried the New Coconut Format — This Was SO Much Fun 🥥
