Dog throwing up inconsistently
Looking for advice on if this warrants a vet visit or if there are other at home approaches to try first.
We have a 6 year old pit mix. In the past month, she’s been throwing up her food inconsistently. It was maybe 1x/week to the first couple weeks but now it’s starting to happen more 2-3x/week.
The vomit just looked like mushy food. No mucus or foreign objects or anything concerning. It’s occurred mid-day, but mostly happens overnight about ~5 hours after her dinner.
She eats twice a day. She’s about 5lbs overweight right now (we are working on it, recently reduced food). Her appetite, energy levels and poops haven’t changed at all during this time which is why I haven’t taken her to the vet yet.
We recently bought some probiotic treats to see if that does anything. I doubt it’s obstruction as she never chews on foreign things and doesn’t have a history or swallowing toy material.
