I actually have a good boss?

Hey folks, I appreciate this thread is all about the bad but I actually think I have a good boss. Last Friday my bosses boss asked me to do something last minute at 4.36pm when I signed off at 4.30pm, I said no as I was in the process of signing off for the week. She then today complained to my boss that I was not being “accomodating for the business needs”.

My boss, hero he is, snapped back “you sent out a memo three months ago that any overtime was no longer approved. You asked a staff member of mine to work overtime and within their rights, they said no. Please clarify as there is so much work and we are understaffed that said staff member could justifiably work 6 hours per week overtime that she is happy to do, for the money. You DO NOT have the right to communicate with MY staff directly. You are MY boss and they are MY team. In future, please contact me directly and I will assist if I can or else you approve OT for my staff. The dude is a legend in my eyes.

Anyone else out there who actually has a good boss?
