(Spoilers Extended) Am I the only one who doesn't get why Daeron the "Daring" is so great?
Like I just re-read Fire and Blood, and I find him lacking so I don't get the hype behind him or why people started glazing him so much.
He flew burned an enemy army with his dragon and got the nickname The Daring from it. Not really Impressive when the enemy side had no dragons or ways to harm the dragon, its the equivalent of having a WW2 bomber in the middle ages you fly over the enemy and kill them.
He was a threat because he followed Ormund and his army. Daeron is said to be more of a follower than a leader, more accustomed to following commands than giving them. That makes him a threat because he wont be as impolsive and easy tk bait like Aemond but its his biggest weakness because when Ormund died Daeron struggled to control his army. Dying eithet in the chaos of battle or falling tent.
Am I missing something?
