broken friendship

my friendship with my ex best friend is falling apart and it’s breaking me. idk what to do i’m stuck, one of my major triggers was triggered (thru no fault of his own) and we were already going thru something cause he betrayed me but i can’t just sever my attachment to him and i keep sending loads of texts just trying to get him to listen to me im in hellpls help :((
