Last night in Ireland

I don't want to spend our last night in an airport hotel in Dublin. Driving from Cavan that day would arrive dublin area around 5pm. I want and easy trip to airport in the morning. Any suggestions for quaint town to stay overnight or should we just stay in Dublin?
